A healthy lifestyle

Since my blog is going to be focusing on body health, I shall have a kick start on what a healthy lifestyle really is.

What is a healthy lifestyle?

A healthy lifestyle simply means a maintenance in the state of physical, mental, and social well-being, with the purpose of restoring and recovering health, or treating and preventing some vigorous diseases that may be untreatable.

If you want to be a healthy person, you have to technically suffer, because "No Pain, No Gain" What I mean by suffer is to get rid of sweetened drinks, chocolates, candies, burgers, etc. Furthermore, you have to get your exercise at least 3-4 times a week for approximately 25 minutes so that you will not get sick so easily.

The following are 10 different ways to live a healthy lifestyle:

1. Track your daily progress with a diet and or fitness diary
Write down everything you eat and do everyday, how you are feeling afterwards, so that this will help you to track of your habits and what you have been eating and doing before.  Noting down how much you weigh could be helpful too! :)

Example of a food diary

2. Drink less
Drink less by here means decrease the intake of alcohols and sweetened drinks. A large amount of alcohol intake may lead to wide range of long condition health problems, which includes cancers, strokes, and heart diseases.

3. Exercise regularly
Exercising is one of the most relevant activity for a healthy lifestyle, it can help you to have a healthy weight, have more energy, avoid sickness and diseases, feel happy and positive, and to live longer, stronger and healthier! Obesity has become a very common chronic disease because people are siting around too much. The every movement you do counts as an exercise, so the more you move, the healthier you'll be! Everyone knows the importance of exercise, but no one actually bothers to make some efforts because we have always got lots of excuses not to do it. We should exercise regularly to stay a healthy lifestyle!

4. No more late night eating
Eating late at night can be very bad because you won't be able to burn much calories you just ate since you are less active at night and will lead to a higher percentage of these calories transforming to fats. Moreover, late night eating will affect sleep patterns and digestive system which could possibly harm your body health and lifestyle terribly. If you feel really hungry at night, try to grab some high-protein foods for late night snacks, but make sure they are not too much! :P ;)

5. Avoid unhealthy habits
Unhealthy habits include sitting too much, watching too much and late night eating too much which I have mentioned above. You can start the process of staying a healthy lifestyle by adding some simple activities like walking, jogging, playing, etc. I tend to do some very basic exercise like jumping, lunges and more during the commercials to burn some calories. Do some physical movements with your family would be more fun! :)

6. Get enough sleep

It is something similar what I have mentioned about, but this is about getting an adequate of sleep. A lack of sleeping may increase the risk of diabetes and heart problems, and may also decrease the ability to concentrate. It may also make you fat too :P so get more sleeps from now on! So that you can stay a healthy life longer :)

This will be you if you don't get enough sleep

7. Eat more fruits and vegetable
I suppose this what a 3-year-old child already knew. Eat 70% of vegetables and fruits for each meal to keep you hydrated and full and meanwhile keeping you healthy. If you take 400g of them a day, it can help lower down your rick of heart disease, diabetes, stroke and obesity. However, this doesn't mean that you cannot take other foods, it's just that you have to keep a balanced diet by giving your body the energy it needs. You may have a "cheating day" by taking some sugars and fats one day each week :) I do that too. :P

The food pyramid
Sometimes looking at the food pyramid may help you because it could help you to have a healthy diet too. :D

8. Less oil, less salt, less sugar and less fat
Minimize your consumption of oil, salt, sugar and fats with decrease the amount intake of sweets, pizzas, french fries and all those unhealthy foods. You may substitute them by taking some lean meats, fruits and vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy products and some more healthy products.

9. Do not skip breakfast
Begin your day by eating some breakfasts, even it's not a big meal. This will help you to become more energetic and will prevent you from becoming over-hungry afterwards. Eating breakfast can also help to complete your nutrition diet that is higher in nutrients, minerals and vitamins to provide an adequate of energy.

Did you know?
Children who were obese were about twice as likely not to eat breakfast as children of normal weight. (source: Telegraph Media Group)

10. Avoid the social networks and tvsLastly, it's about your MOTIVATION and enthusiasm towards your health. If you want to have a healthy lifestyle, get away from the social networks and tvs, or maybe you can do what I have suggested. :) Trust me, social networks and tvs are not going to help you have a healthy lifestyle. Exercising and eating healthily will help you keep a healthy lifestyle! :)

I guess that's all for today, see you for next time! C:
